Setting your annual carry forward
If your organisation lets employees carry over unused allowance, Timetastic can automatically roll it over from one year to the next.
Head to SETTINGS > CARRY FORWARD.
For employees with a daily allowance, set the maximum number of 'Days' that can be carried over. Enter the number of 'Hours' that can be rolled over for employee's with an hourly allowance. Any remaining allowance, up to and including this limit, will be carried forward at their year end.
The carry forward automatically happens at the end of an employee's leave year. The carry forward only happens at this time and can't be re-run at another point during the year.
At the turn of a leave year, admins will receive email confirmation of the completed carry forward.
Expiry
You can also set how many months employees have to use their carry forward within. Timetastic will allocate brought forward allowance first when a user is booking time off. Any rolled over allowance that isn't used within the expiry period, won't be available after that time.
On occasion you may want to allow employees to book time off after your expiry period. This can be done by editing the expiry temporarily (to 12 months for example), letting the user request their leave, then re-applying your limit.
Notes:
Carry forward is a company wide function applied to all employees with unused allowance, however:
- Amounts carried forward can be edited on an individual employee basis after the year end run.
- Carry forward can't be rolled over or used 'in advance'.
- Employees can see their brought forward allowance and when it needs to be booked by, in their Calendar summary:
