How to automatically deduct breaks and meals

How to deduct breaks automatically

Break management features in Rota & Time Clock allow you to customise settings for both unpaid and paid breaks, reducing manual interventions and ensuring policy adherence.

1- Use rota break time

If you want to ensure that a rota unpaid break is deducted in full, even if it hasn't been clocked in correctly or has simply been forgotten; this process ensures that the timesheets reflect breaks accurately, even in the event of improper or missed clock-ins, simplifying payroll and scheduling.

1- Click on the "Settings" tab in the main menu on the left

2- Click on "Attendance"

3- Click on the “Automation” subcategory

4- Activate the "Automatically add planned breaks to timesheet if recorded breaks are too short or missing" option

For this automation to work, note that the break must always be added to your employees' shift, and the rota must be published.

2- Deduct a break after a certain number of hours worked

If you wish to automatically deduct an unpaid break after a certain number of consecutive working hours, without having to indicate it on the planning:

This settings works if you are not using the rota and employees are just clocking their hours.
