How to automatically deduct breaks and meals

How to Deduct Breaks Automatically

Administrators can set up automatic deduction of breaks from timesheets. This flexibility in break management can also ensure compliance with company policies and contribute to reducing administrative overhead.

This article explains how to set this up! Break management features in Rota & Time Clock allow you to customise settings for both unpaid and paid breaks, reducing manual interventions and ensuring policy adherence.

If you want to ensure that a rotad unpaid break is deducted in full, even if it hasn't been clocked in correctly or has simply been forgotten; this process ensures that the timesheets reflect breaks accurately, even in the event of improper or missed clock-ins, simplifying payroll and scheduling.

1- Click on the "Settings" tab in the main menu on the left

2- Click on "Attendance"

3- Click on the “Automation” subcategory

4- Activate the "Use the shift's planned unpaid break if an employee didn't clock his entire unpaid break" option.

For this automation to work, note that the break must always be added to your employees' rota, and the rota must be published.

Plus Plan also lets you create automatic break rules so that breaks are automatically added to your rota!
