Recurring shifts

Why use the recurrence feature?

The recurrence feature lets you create shifts that will be repeated automatically moving forward.

So you might like to set a shift recurrence if:

  • An employee's rota is the same every week (i.e. 9 to 5, 5 days a week)

  • You have a set rota pattern every two or three weeks, etc.

Setting a recurrence

Here's how to set a recurrence for an employee:

1. Create a new shift or select an existing one. (Enter all the information necessary if you're creating a new shift)

2. Click the 'Recurrence' tab

3. Select the shift repeats: on a weekly or monthly basis.

4. Select the frequency

Every week, every other week, every x weeks, etc. (i.e. if the shift is to be repeated every two weeks, enter '2' in the repeat frequency box)

You can then choose the days of the week when you want the shift to be repeated on. By default, the recurrence will be created indefinitely, but you can also choose an end date.

Monthly recurrence

If you have an employee who's shift is every 10th day of the month, that's where the monthly recurrence comes in handy.

1. Select 'On a monthly basis'

2. Enter how often it repeats per month

3. Choose whether it repeats by the day of the month or the day of the week

4. Choose if or when the recurrence ends

Summary

You can view a summary of the recurring shift you're creating on the right hand side.
